Nathan Forrest, Choir Director

Nathan Forrest is currently the choir director of Stuart Presbyterian Church (EPC), where he leads the choir and congregation in weekly worship. He tries to provide a mixture of traditional and contemporary music for all to be lifted and encouraged.

Under his direction, the choir has grown in many musical ways, and they have learned a decent amount of music in the Southern gospel, concert choir, and contemporary styles.   He is always looking for exciting new ways to get the youth involved in the worship process through song or the spoken Word.

He is also currently finishing the Master of Arts in music (conducting emphasis) at Radford University (RU) with an expected graduation date of May 2012.  While there, he has participated in the graduate conducting studio under Dr. R. Wayne Gallops and has recently conducted the University Symphonic Band in a public recital.  He has participated in the University Wind Ensemble, Concert Jazz Ensemble, Red and Black Brass Quintet, Trumpet Ensemble, Radford Community Chamber Orchestra, and numerous small groups as a trumpet player.  He has grown in a large number of ways and has seen God work in his life as so many opportunities have come up to either lead others or develop musical understanding in a variety of situations and environments.  He is also actively involved in the Baptist Collegiate Ministry (BCM) of RU, Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia-Xi Theta Chapter, and Pi Kappa Lambda, an honorary fraternity for music.
